How Inline Opinions Work

Inline Opinions let you share your thoughts about a specific moment inside a NailTeller story.

Instead of waiting until the end of the story to leave a general comment, you may see an opinion box directly beneath an important sentence or passage.

This lets readers discuss the exact moment when a decision, conflict, secret, or turning point happens.

What Is an Inline Opinion?

An Inline Opinion is a short response connected to one specific part of a story.

You may see an opinion box after a moment when:

  • A nail tech discovers something unexpected.
  • A salon owner makes a difficult decision.
  • Someone hides the truth from a spouse or coworker.
  • A customer crosses a personal boundary.
  • The narrator is unsure what to do next.

Do you think she should tell her husband what happened?

You can write your response directly inside the opinion box without leaving the story page.

How to Post an Opinion

  1. Read the story until you see an opinion box.
  2. Read the question connected to that story moment.
  3. Enter your opinion in the text box.
  4. Select Post Opinion.

Your opinion is connected to that highlighted story moment, not to the entire story.

Inline Opinions and Regular Comments

Inline Opinions and regular comments have different purposes.

Inline Opinion

An Inline Opinion is connected to a particular sentence, passage, decision, or conflict inside the story.

Regular Comment

A regular comment appears in the main comment section and can discuss the entire story.

You may use Inline Opinions to respond to specific moments and use regular comments to share your overall thoughts about the story.

Opinion Moderation

Depending on NailTeller’s moderation settings, your opinion may appear immediately or may need to be reviewed first.

  • When moderation is turned on, a newly submitted opinion may remain pending until it is approved.
  • When moderation is turned off, the opinion may be published immediately.

Keep Opinions Respectful

Different readers may interpret the same situation differently. You may agree or disagree with the narrator or other readers, but your response should remain respectful.

Please do not include:

  • Personal attacks or harassment.
  • Threats or hateful language.
  • Private phone numbers, addresses, or identifying information.
  • Spam or unrelated promotions.
  • Claims that could unfairly harm a real person.

Focus on the situation described in the story rather than attacking the person who shared it.

Can I Post More Than One Opinion?

A story may contain several Inline Opinion moments. You can respond to each moment separately because every question addresses a different part of the story.

For example, you might believe the narrator made the right decision at the beginning but disagree with what happened later.

Why NailTeller Uses Inline Opinions

Stories often contain more than one difficult decision. A single comment at the end may not show exactly which moment a reader is responding to.

Inline Opinions make discussions clearer by allowing readers to respond while an important moment is still fresh.

They also help the NailTeller community discuss trust, fairness, responsibility, relationships, workplace boundaries, and what someone should do next.

Inline Opinions are for sharing your personal perspective. There is not always one correct answer.

Read the passage carefully, respond to the question being asked, and explain what you think in your own words.
