How to comment on stories
Comments let you join the conversation and share your thoughts about stories on NailTeller.
You can use comments to ask questions, offer support, share a similar experience, or respond to something that happened in the story.
What are comments?
Comments are written responses that readers leave on a story.
Unlike reactions, which let you respond with a quick tap or click, comments give you space to explain what you think or feel.
Comments can create conversations between readers and story authors. They also allow readers to respond to one another when replies are available.
Why leave a comment?
A thoughtful comment can make a story more meaningful and help the person who shared it feel heard.
You can leave a comment to:
- Encourage the story author.
- Ask a question about what happened.
- Share a similar nail salon experience.
- Offer helpful advice or emotional support.
- Add another perspective to the conversation.
- Create a meaningful discussion with other readers.
For example, after reading about a nail technician handling a difficult customer, you might share how you managed a similar situation or offer words of encouragement.

- Open the story you want to discuss.
- Scroll to the Comments section.
- Enter your comment in the comment field.
- Review your comment for clarity and respectfulness.
- Tap or click Post Comment.
After your comment is posted, it can become part of the conversation below the story.
Writing respectful comments
Every story may involve real customers, nail technicians, salon owners, family members, or coworkers.
Before posting, make sure your comment:
- Stays connected to the story.
- Uses polite and respectful language.
- Expresses your opinion without attacking anyone.
- Respects experiences that may be different from your own.
- Focuses on the situation instead of judging the person.
- Protects the privacy of everyone involved.
You can disagree with someone and still communicate respectfully.
Treat people online with the same consideration you would show during an in-person conversation.
Things to avoid
To help keep NailTeller welcoming, do not post comments that include:
- Personal attacks.
- Harassment or bullying.
- Hate speech.
- Threatening, offensive, or abusive language.
- Spam or repeated comments.
- Someone else’s private or identifying information.
- Unrelated advertisements or promotional content.
- False claims presented as confirmed facts.
Avoid sharing private details such as phone numbers, home addresses, personal messages, or information that could identify someone without permission.
Tips for writing helpful comments
- Read the entire story before responding.
- Take a moment to think before posting.
- Keep your comment clear and easy to understand.
- Ask questions politely when you need more context.
- Be supportive when someone shares a difficult experience.
- Share advice only when it is relevant and constructive.
- Respect that other readers may have different opinions.
For example, instead of writing, “The salon owner was completely wrong,” you could write, “I understand why the nail technician felt frustrated. Did the owner explain the salon policy before this happened?”
This keeps the discussion focused on the story and invites a more helpful conversation.
