A final review can help you catch mistakes, protect private information, and make your story easier for readers to understand.

Why preview your story?

Previewing allows you to see how your story will appear to readers before you publish it.

This is your opportunity to make sure the information is correct, the events are easy to follow, and the story reflects what you intended to share.

For example, you may notice that you selected the wrong city, entered two different names for the same nail technician, or placed an important event in the wrong order.

Taking one extra minute to review your story can make a meaningful difference.

What should I check before publishing?

Review each part of your story carefully:

• Role: Make sure it correctly identifies who is telling the story.
• Perspective: Confirm that it matches how you experienced or learned about the events.
• Story Category: Choose the category that best represents the main event.
• State and City: Verify where the story actually happened.
• Character Name: Make sure the name is correct and used consistently.
• Story Details: Confirm that the important events and information are included.
• Uploaded Photos: Check that each photo is appropriate and connected to the story.

Everything should match the story you want to tell.

Review your story details

Read through your Story Details from beginning to end.

Look for:

• Spelling mistakes, if you would like to correct them.
• Missing information that readers may need.
• Incorrect or inconsistent names.
• Wrong locations.
• Parts of the story that may be difficult to understand.
• Events that appear in the wrong order.

Perfect grammar is not required. What matters most is that your story honestly and clearly explains what happened.

For example, if your story begins with a customer arriving for a manicure, make sure later events do not accidentally suggest that the customer arrived after the service was completed.

Before you tap Publish

Ask yourself a few final questions:

• Does this story accurately describe what happened?
• Did I accidentally include private or sensitive information?
• Are the uploaded photos appropriate to share?
• Do I have permission to share photos involving other people?
• Are the names, locations, and important details correct?
• Is everything consistent from beginning to end?

Remove personal phone numbers, home addresses, financial details, account information, or anything else that should remain private.

If you use a fictional name to protect someone’s identity, make sure you use that same name throughout the story.

What happens after publishing?

When you are satisfied with your preview, tap the Publish button.

After you publish:

• Your story is submitted to NailTeller.
• Your story may be reviewed before it becomes publicly available.
• You may need to wait for the review process to be completed.

Your story may not appear publicly right away. If a review is required, allow time for the review process to be completed.

Tips before publishing

• Read your story one more time from beginning to end.
• Make sure character names are consistent.
• Double-check your selected Story Category.
• Verify the State and City where the story happened.
• Confirm that each uploaded photo relates to the story.
• Remove any private information that readers should not see.
• Make sure you have finished every section you intended to complete.

Honest stories are more important than perfect writing. Focus on sharing your experience clearly and respectfully.

Common mistakes

Publishing before the story is finished

Make sure you have included the main event, what happened next, and any ending or outcome readers need to understand.

Forgetting intended photos

If you planned to include photos of a manicure, salon interior, receipt, or another relevant detail, confirm that they appear in the preview.

Choosing the wrong category

Select the category that matches the main focus of the story, not a small detail mentioned only once.

Leaving placeholder text

Remove unfinished notes such as “add more here,” “name later,” or any example text that is not part of your story.

Sharing sensitive personal information

Check for phone numbers, private addresses, financial information, account details, or anything else that could put someone’s privacy at risk.

Using inconsistent names

If the nail technician is called “Lisa” at the beginning, do not accidentally call the same person “Linda” later unless they are two different people.

Check your story management area to see whether an Edit option is available. Because editing may not always be available immediately, carefully review your story before publishing.

What happens if I notice a mistake later?

Check whether your published story includes an Edit option.

If you cannot correct the mistake yourself, use the available NailTeller support or contact option to request help.

Why isn’t my story visible yet?

Your story may still be waiting for review. Stories do not always become publicly visible immediately after they are submitted.

Will my story be reviewed?

Your story may be reviewed before it becomes publicly available. Wait for the review process to be completed if applicable.

Can I delete my story after publishing?

Check your story management area for a Delete or Remove option.

If one is not available, use the NailTeller support or contact option to request assistance.

Do I need perfect spelling and grammar?

No. Your story does not need to be perfectly written.

It should simply describe your real experience in a way readers can understand.

Can I publish without photos?

Yes. Photos are optional. You can publish a complete story without uploading any images.

Should I use real names?

You may use a real name, nickname, or fictional name, depending on what is appropriate for your story.

Consider using a fictional name when you need to protect someone’s privacy.

Make sure it is accurate, understandable, respectful, and free of information that should remain private.
