Marriage & Family ยท Plano, TX
I trusted my husband until our boss started asking him to spend every day off with her
I've been married to my husband for five years.
I'm 28.
He's 35.
We work together at the same nail salon in Plano.
For the longest time, I thought working together was actually a blessing.
At least I'd always know where he was.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
Our salon owner is a 42-year-old divorced woman.
She's attractive, outgoing, and has a personality that makes everyone feel comfortable around her.
At first, I didn't think much of how friendly she was with my husband.
She'd ask him to help close the shop.
She'd ask him to move furniture.
She'd ask him to fix little things around the salon.
Then those favors slowly turned into invitations.
Let's grab a beer after work.
Let's go watch the game.
Let's check out this new restaurant.
The strange part was...
She always invited him on his day off.
And somehow those were always the days I was scheduled to work.
Whenever I had a day off too, she never asked.
Not once.
At first, my husband always told me where he was going.
He'd even send me pictures.
Eventually, that stopped.
Now he'd simply say he was hanging out with the boss for a few hours.
One Saturday, I called him around 7 p.m.
He didn't answer.
Around 10 p.m., he texted me.
Sorry... phone died.
That had never happened before.
The next morning he acted completely normal.
A few days later, one of my coworkers casually asked me something that made my stomach drop.
She said, I thought you were with them yesterday.
I asked, With who?
She looked surprised.
The boss and your husband. They left together around noon.
I smiled like everything was fine.
Inside, I felt sick.
That week I quietly checked the work schedule.
I noticed a pattern.
Almost every time my husband had a day off and I was working...
The owner had also blocked off her own schedule.
I wanted to believe it was just a coincidence.
Maybe it still is.
I haven't accused either of them of anything because I don't have proof.
But my husband has become more protective of his phone.
He smiles when messages come in.
If I walk over, he locks the screen without thinking.
Maybe I'm overthinking.
Maybe nothing is happening.
Or maybe my instincts are trying to tell me something before my eyes are ready to see it.
If you were in my position...
Would you confront your husband now?
Or would you wait until you knew the truth?
